Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPS) are commonly used for tasks that require people to have access to working at heights due to their safety features and job efficiency.
There are 4 common types of MEWP trucks used in the industry, please see below:
3A – Mobile Vertical (also known as Scissor Lift) – Can drive elevated
3B – Mobile Boom (also known as Cherry Picker) – Can drive elevated
1A – Static Vertical – Driven into position and cannot drive elevated
1B – Static Boom – Mounted to vehicle and cannot drive elevated
What is IPAF?
IPAF (International Powered Access Federations) are the globally recognised awarding body specialising training courses in MEWP machinery. They have a highly sophisticated team of professional leaders who have developed and marketed IPAF to be one of the market leaders worldwide. We run both common in the industry 3A Mobile Vertical and 3B Mobile Boom courses at our purposeful built training centre in Wolverhampton. Successful completion of the course delegates are given a Pal card which are issued digitally through ePal.
We can also deliver our MEWP courses through ITSSAR, RTITB, NPORS or Inhouse certification, it all depends on your company requirements.
Location
We can deliver our MEWP training courses anywhere across the UK, or you can can come to purposeful built training centre in Wolverhampton. Its entirely up to you.
Areas covered
The set up of this course is split into the three areas which are the Theory, Pre-Inspection and Practical. During the theory our instructors goes through the key relevant Health & Safety legislations, and the specific information regarding to safety operation of the MEWPs. Pre-Inspection of the MEWPs helps delegates to identify the importance of carrying out checks before operating the truck, and the importance of reporting defects. And finally, the practical element focus is on practicing to operate the truck safely and correctly accordingly to what the task is.
