The DSE Assessor course aims to provide delegates with the skills and knowledge to enable them to assess workstations and make appropriate suggestions for improvements in lay out and working patterns. A workstation assessment minimises risks to DSE users by ensuring workstations are risk assessed and that appropriate measures are taken in order to reduce any risk.
Managers or supervisors who have responsibilities for employees who spend a significant part of their work sitting at a computer workstation. Correctly identify risks associated with the use of DSE (Display Screen Equipment) and to correctly setup workstations to assist in minimising potential problems.
Objectives of course:
- To understand the relevant Legislation with reference to Display Screen Equipment (DSE)
- Be able to identify common hazards from DSE use
- Be able to identify the basic standards of the workstation and carry out a assessment of the workstation
- Have a basic understanding of workstation ergonomics
