This course has been designed to provide delegates with the purposes of work permits and the importance requiring it for their duties. Anyone operating a permit to work system must be aware of and support meeting legal requirements to provide sufficient training on this process.
The Permit to Work course has been designed to give delegates awareness and knowledge of the importance of their Permit to Work System at workplaces and the role they play in avoiding accidents.
A properly implemented programme of risk assessments can assist in the prevention of injuries, fatalities, property damage incidents and other losses. Apart from the corporate and personal benefits arising from risk assessment, employers and the self employed have a legal duty to make suitable and sufficient assessments of the risks to the Health and Safety of employees, non-employees and the self employed.
Objectives of course:
- An outline of the requirements of a ‘suitable & sufficient’ risk assessment
- The definition of a Permit to Work System (PTW) and in which circumstances they may be required
- The Operation and Application of a PTW
- The PTW Document
- Provide examples of types of PTW for specialised high risk activities e.g. Hot Works, Confined Spaces, Work on Electrical Systems etc.
Our Permit to Work trainers all come from different backgrounds such as Professional Medic, Ex-Military, Mountain Rescue, Industry and are very educated with certificates in NEBOSH, IOSH, First Aid etc. With their knowledge and experience in this field they are able to share their experienced into the delivery of the course and give valuable advice of the do’s and don’ts.
Successful completion of this course delegates are provided with a Permit to Work certificate. After this course delegates have the option to build their H&S knowledge by booking themselves onto the IOSH Managing Safely course.
